Building a Virtual Platform to Deliver Agile Team Training in the Pandemic Era

Client: Financial Services Company
As one of the largest mutual fund companies, the client is the leading provider of workplace savings plans in the US and a provider of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). They offer retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage services, and many other financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals and institutions, as well as to more than 5,000 financial intermediary firms.

The Challenge:

Due to the impact of COVID-19, new social distancing requirements disallowed us to continue on-site Agile training. The client, one of the largest mutual fund companies, needed to create a 100% virtual training platform to execute a series of Agile team training sessions. To add to the complexity of this initiative, the 25 attendees were distributed across multiple time zones and the timeline to delivery was very tight in order to accommodate a pre-scheduled class.

The Solution:

Eliassen Group was able to handcraft a solution that removed all technology challenges within three days. Utilizing state-of-the-art collaboration tools like Zoom, Poll Everywhere, and Mural, all activities and breakout sessions were redesigned into virtual rooms for a tailored, intimate experience closely modeled after our in-person training.

The Result:

The move to 100% virtual training allowed the client to continue on their established schedule and set up a valuable framework for future onshore and offshore virtual training.
