A company transitioning from private to public status faced significant hurdles in meeting public company reporting requirements. Key challenges included accelerating financial close processes, enhancing forecasting and corporate metrics, and introducing new functions such as Investor Relations. The client also needed to assess and address resource gaps to comply with SEC requirements and operate effectively as a public entity.
Drawing on our deep IPO readiness and public reporting expertise, Eliassen Group began by interviewing the client’s accounting and reporting leadership to assess resource and skill set gaps relative to peer public companies.
Next, we analyzed financial close and consolidation timelines to identify areas of improvement, conducted detailed review of disclosures by benchmarking against peer public company filings and auditor checklists, and evaluated critical accounting policies as well as recent accounting standard adoptions. These insights informed of a prioritized gap analysis and a customed IPO readiness roadmap.
The client emerged with the structure, visibility and guidance needed to navigate a successful transition to the public markets.
