Are you an IT contractor who lives in the mid-Atlantic region who has always had an interest in working for the federal government?

Do you get excited at the prospect of working for the Defense Intelligence Agency?

Then you might want to explore what you have to do to get in on the ground floor for becoming a consultant in the DIA’s planned Data Science, Operations, Requirements, and Exploitation (DORE) program.

A follow-up to its current Science, Technology, Acquisition, Requirements, Testing and Exploitation initiative, (Start-X), a few details about DORE emerged when an unclassified slide deck posted to the FedBizOpps contracting website became public in November.

DORE will spend $350 million over five years, with the DIA looking for experts in:

  • Hadoop
  • Cloud Technology
  • Machine Learning
  • ETL Processes and Applications
  • Data Visualization

The slide said the DIA has an interest in the areas of the Internet of Things, social media, and open-source support. What was unknown from what was revealed, however, were the types of skills the intelligence agency is looking to leverage in support of its mission.

Contracts will be awarded to companies that bid on the work at the end of April.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it?

Line yourself up with the right people who could help you land one of those jobs.

Provided, of course, you have the right skill set.

Think you could work in one of the aforementioned roles for the DIA?
