Business Systems Analyst
Job Description
Location: Wakefield, MA
The corporate IT department at Eliassen Group is looking for a seasoned Business Systems Analyst to join our IT staff.
This individual will play an integral part in the success of the application management team by providing business analysis functions, application support, training, and report development for the CRM (Pivotal application). In addition, this individual will perform SharePoint administration functions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Increase usability of business applications for internal users by proactively managing and controlling feature enhancements, providing more in-depth testing, and better documentation
- Reduce investment risk of corporation by leveraging business and system analyst best practices in business case development and feasibility and analysis study to determine investment opportunity and return on investment for new ventures (e.g., applications, tools, business process, training)
- Increase productivity of internal users and IT personnel by focusing their skills and talents on tools and resources to make internal users more self sufficient and thereby lessen their reliance on IT
- Support and maintain configuration of in-scope applications; specifically Pivotal CRM and SharePoint
- Work with business stakeholders and team members to elicit and document business and application requirements. Examples of expected output of this will be Use Cases, functional requirements, workflow diagrams
- Develop models such as business interaction charts or entity relationship diagrams and workflow diagram to examine and document how the business process works
- Participates in formal sessions and interviews to gather, translate, and document business and system requirements to support transforming requirements into effective technology solutions
- Works with stakeholders to identify and document required application or business-related changes
- Create end-user documentation (quick reference cards). Assists in the development of course modules and training materials to train end-users in the use of software applications
- Sets up and maintains user/system access according to established procedures
- Assist in testing and roll out of functional changes to all applications
- Provide daily system/application administration
- Research and evaluate alternatives in order to recommend the most efficient and cost effective solution that meets business requirements and IT standards
- Assess and evaluate all feedback from stakeholders to analyze, document and address the requirements necessary to correct any issues or business process changes in the on-going maintenance of the applications
ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior work experience with CRM tools required, Pivotal experience a plus
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a business/system analyst or similar role
- Practical working knowledge of SQL in report generation and query construction
- Experience with structured analysis methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage a project from concept to delivery
- Skilled in creating structure, clear and concise documentation
- Strong verbal communication
- Works collaborative and can maintain composure while working under duress
- Adaptable to new processes and methodologies
- Must be self-directed
- Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience
